株式会社オカムラ（本社：神奈川県横浜市、代表取締役社長：中村 雅行）は、2019年6月10日（月）～6月12日（水）にシカゴ（米国・イリノイ州）で開催される「NeoCon 2019」に出展します。「NeoCon」（The National Exposition of Contract Furnishings）は、1969年から毎年米国・シカゴのマーチャンダイズマートにて開催される北米最大の商業インテリアの展示会です。 「NeoCon 2019」では、海外のデザイナーとコラボレーションした家具を発表・展示します。デザインスタジオRainlightのデザインによるソファシリーズ「NAGARE」と、デザイナーRichard Holbrook氏によるカンファレンスシーティング「SHIBUSA」です。 オカムラは2008年より、展示会場となるマーチャンダイズマートにシカゴ支店、ショールームを開設しており、今年は「NeoCon 2019」の開催に合わせて、同建物内で移転・拡張します。リニューアルしたショールームで、ワーカーのパフォーマンスと快適性が向上するオフィス家具や働く空間を提案します。

ソファシリーズ「NAGARE」

「NAGARE」は、「流れ」を感じさせる曲線的なデザインが特徴のソファシリーズ。自然の「流れ」を意識したソファとテーブルは穏やかな感覚をもたらし、現代の情報社会に安らぎの空間をつくります。まるで小川のほとりに座っているかのような平穏な時間を提供します。 ラウンジやオフィスエリアに適した2種類のソファタイプやカフェテーブル、働くことを考慮したパーソナルテーブルをラインアップ。クッションやコンセントなどのオプションも取りそろえ、さまざまな働き方をサポートします。

デザイナーのコメント
Nagare, which means 'flow' in Japanese, is a new collection of furniture that responds to the way we work today. This collection of seating and tables, inspired by nature, brings a gentle sense of movement and creates a place of repose within the information storm of our times. Nagare provides the opportunity for mindfulness and introspection, as if you are sitting on the bank of a brook. Nagare consists of two distinct families - Lounge and Platform - each element possesses a sculptural quality that makes a bold aesthetic statement, while also being highly functional. This new collection has been carefully designed to help us work more effectively wherever work might happen.

カンファレンスシーティング「SHIBUSA」

「SHIBUSA」は、つながりやシェア、コラボレーションが重要となっている現代において、カンファレンスシーンに求められる機能を問い直し、必要な機能と美しさを両立したカンファレンスシーティングです。 「SHIBUSA」のシンプルなフォルムとコンパクトなメカニズムには、「質素、謙虚さ、内在性、自然性、日常性、不完全さ、静寂」といった要素からなる日本の美的哲学「渋さ」が表れています。 背もたれにパネルを配したタイプは、カンファレンステーブルの意匠と合わせることで、より洗練された空間を実現します。

Simplicity, implicity, modesty, naturalness, everydayness, imperfection, and silence.In these traits, one discovers the Japanese aesthetic philosophy of shibusa. Connection, sharing, collaboration - these activities have never been more important at work and life. We come together in places created to encourage and support engagement and contribution.In conference rooms, around tables, in groups large and not so large, we converse, display, enlighten and learn. Suspended in the balance between simplicity and complexity, restraint and spontaneity, SHIBUSA by Okamura represents understated elegance and quiet confidence.
